December is one of the busiest and most beautiful times of the year also for most event organisers. The corporate Christmas parties are quite effortful but super rewarding.
Sure, there is a lot of planning ahead, coordinating with various suppliers and running around but you also get to be extremely creative and play with the event concept, not to mention have lots of fun with all the crazy, amusing props and accessories you put together for the event.
This year we had 2 700-people corporate parties one day apart, so we had to put our superhero costumes on and make things happen.
For the first event, we chose a concept related to travels and we brought closer to our guests some of the dream destinations everybody is fantasising about.
The focus was on 3 main corners: Japan, Italy and Hawaii while the event venue was decorated with suitcases, coconuts and pineapples, a destinations indicator with distances was placed at the entrance and silhouettes of famous buildings from around the world were projected on the venue screens. Our guests were greeted by 2 hostesses dressed as flight attendants who put boarding pass like wristbands.
Each corner had its distinct charm: each had a photo wall with a representative image, with specific elements from the area, funny props and accessories. Japan had the colourful umbrellas and fans with beautifully drawn cherry blossoms, we created a photo wall with the image of a geisha and a samurai and placed lanterns around it. The highlight was a Japanese person who wrote words and names in her language.
For the Italian corner, we recreated a piece of the typical Italian café where we set the perfect décor for a cappuccino and even brought an actual Vespa for the guests to take picture on.
The Hawaiian corner was the most vibrant of them all. The participants took selfies while wearing funky glasses in the shape of flamingos, pineapples and what not, put on flower headbands and garlands and imagined themselves riding the waves in the middle of the ocean.
Everybody had an absolute blast and enjoyed all the surprises we had prepared for them, including several cocktails inspired by the themed corners and a hilarious stand-up comedy show.
